White Horse League - 21-01-2012

White Horse League

On Sunday a team of Sevenoaks swimmers travelled to Eltham Pool to take part in R1 of The White Horse League. This is the first time Sevenoaks have competed in this League and the swimmers were on a high from the start.

First event kicked off with Joseph Choong in the Open Individual medley  just finishing 1st  by 2 seconds.  Joe also clinched a 1st in the Open age group in the 100m fly.  Tariq Hanza swam to an excellent  2nd in the breastroke event just missing out on the final touch.

The 15/u boys saw 2 first places for Henry Choong in the 100m breastroke with a 2 second lead  and just touching to 1st in the butterfly.

 In the Boys 13/u Hamish  Johnstone took first in the backstroke with a convincing win  and Joshua Bedford-Eatwell in the freestyle by a touch.  Good swims also from David Wilson in the breastroke and Tom Coveney in the fly.

 George Tyler and Dylan Reynolds in the 11/u group achieved 2nd places in the breastroke and butterfly respectively.

In the Girls Open age group Katie Lobley came 2nd in the 100m breastroke and in the 13/u Girls  also 2nd places for Charlotte Hook in the freestyle, Imogen Hawkins in the backstroke  and Millie Humphrey in the fly.  A good performance also from Elizabeth Coveney in the 100m breastroke.

Some excellent swims in the 11/u from Arthur Zijdenbos 3rd in the backstroke, Vita Milana in the freestyle, just missing 2nd by a touch, and Euan Livingstone also 3rd  in the freestyle.  In the 15/u Kiri Marsh was 3rd in the fly event.    In the Open age also 3rd places for Chloe Rouse in the freestyle with all teams finishing almost simultaneously,   Patrick Ham in the freestyle with the first 3 swimmers all finishing on the same time, and Alex Macaulay also 3rd  in the backstroke event.

The relay teams were strong and the 11/u Girls and Boys were both first in the medley with easy wins,  and 1st for the Girls in the freestyle with a convincing win with the Boys gaining 2nd place in the freestyle.

The 13/u Boys team were 1st in  the medley relay with a close finish and  freestyle relay with a comfortable win,   and the Girls achieved 3rd in both events.

In the 15/u Boys freestyle relay the team was just pushed into 2nd place by less than a second.

The Open age group for the Boys showed a great performance with 1st in the medley relay by a touch  and in the  freestyle relay  with a close finish by only 2 seconds, whilst the Girls Open team also performed well and gaining 5th in both events.

Final results were Sevenoaks 299, Orpington 298, Beckenham 295, Southern Aquatics 220,  Erith & District 215, Whiteoak 212, Bromley 153.
