Sevenoaks take on Sussex water polo champions - 23-01-2009Sevenoaks take on Sussex Water Polo Champions
Wednesday 14 January
Sevenoaks made the long trip down to face Sussex champions Worthing. Worthing are one of the strongest side that we play - and recently were admitted to the National League, unfortunately the score line reflected as we went down 22 - 7. Alex Tollefson (GB junior international) managed to score 5 of our goals, whilst Tom McDonald (home from University) and new boy Graham Style chipped in with a goal apiece. The team worked hard, but had difficulty adjusting to the use of the 30 second "shot clock" (which is not used in the Kent League) and the longer Worthing pool. These required different tactics to those the team usually employ. The game was however, valuable preparation for the upcoming Norman Beadle tournament at the end of February where the team will be looking to improve on last year's 4th place against all of the Kent League teams. Senior water polo is at the Leisure Centre on Wednesdays, 9 to 10. New players are always welcome - no experience required, just an ability to swim. more news articles... | ![]() NoticeboardSunday, 5th Feb Training: The Sennocke Centre is open so all training is on, although there is no dry land session for Silver There will be no swimming at Combe Bank on Monday 13th Feb due to half term. ![]() |
