Regional Results - 29-05-2010S.E. REGION BAGCATs – K2 Sevenoaks swimmer qualifies for Nationals Sevenoaks swimmers produced some outstanding results at the recent South East Regional Championships. Pick of the crop was 14 year old Patrick Ham who won a tremendous 5 silver medals. After gaining 2nd place in the 400, 800 and 1500 free, and then fighting his way to 2nd in the 200 IM, he topped the whole lot off with a magnificent swim in the final heat of the 100 breaststroke to gain himself a long sought National Qualifying Time. Patrick will join 3 other Sevenoaks swimmers at this year’s Nationals, a new record for the Club. All the Sevenoaks swimmers who qualified for the Regional Championships seemed to rise to the occasion of swimming in a long course (50 metre) pool. 13 year old Hamish Wyatt, recorded personal bests in his 200 and 100 breaststroke, placing 4th and 8th respectively, just missing out on his first Regional medal. 13 year old Alexander Macaulay was also swimming well in his 200 backstroke winning his heat by over a body length which gave him 5th place overall, a super swim. Making his debut in the Regional event was 10 year old Hamish Johnstone who placed 9th in the 100 backstroke and 12th in the 200. Hamish is just making the step up from junior galas and gave a glimpse of his future potential, watch this space. Fred Biggs was back to his best and swam personal bests in all three of his freestyle events – the 100, 200 and 400. The Club’s breaststrokers continue to record great performances with 12 year old Emily Lobley just outside top 10 placings with 13th and 15th respectively in the 100 and 200 events; whilst 13 year old Zoe Harding achieved 17th place with a really strong swim in the 100m breaststroke. Sevenoaks went on to demonstrate their strength in depth at this level, as they were the only Kent club to enter all of the relay events. The pick of the results came in the boys 4 x 100 Medley and 4 x 200 freestyle, where the teams managed 8th and 10th place respectively. Girls team members were; Chloe Rouse, Cecilia Fenner, Zoe Harding, Maddy Smith, Ellen Willumsen.
