Orpington Ojays - 19-04-2010Orpington Ojays A number of Sevenoaks SC swimmers attended the Orpington Ojays Open gala this weekend and achieve notable successes. Senior swimmer Leandre Stevens gained a bronze award in the 400 IM, a bronze and PB in the 100m butterfly and a PB in the 50 freestyle. Cecilia Fenner earned a PB in the 400m freestyle. Ellen Benn got a PB in the 100 freestyle and in the 100m backstroke. Frankie Batchelor earned Pbs in the 200 IM and 50 freestyle. The Lobley sisters made outstanding efforts in the 100m breaststroke events for their respective age groups. Both Emily and Katie were awarded Silver medals in these events and Katie also achieved a PB in the 100m freestyle. Two younger swimmers delivered outstanding performances, namely Andrew Jessop and Charlotte Hook. Charlotte achieved a bronze medal and PB in the 50m backstroke and got a good PB in the 50 freestyle. Andrew got a Silver medal and PB in the 50m breaststroke, a bronze medal in the 50m butterfly and obtained a PB in the 50m backstroke. This was a fantastic effort from all individuals and the only disappointing note is from the two swimmers who couldn't attend the gala through being stuck abroad unable to return home due to the Icelandic volcano!
